Client Brief:
The client approached us with a requirement of developing an iPad application which can be implemented as an interactive, analytical module for real time sports statistics. He told us to develop the application specifically for Australian Rules Football (AFL) by accessing an existing statistical data stored. Here is the list of some key features required by client:
- Designed to monitor and compare performances of two competing teams
- Graphics of a "Sports Car" style dashboard prominently and centrally displayed - combining both teams with statistical KPI gauges/dials
- Team colors and logo can be selected for each dashboard control panel
- Alternatively, two players or a group of players (by type) may be selected to be represented on the dashboard to compared individual performances
- A real-time score update at a designated refresh rate is to nominated - 30 second default
Our Endeavor:
We developed the iPad application to compare the statistics between any two competitive teams. When the application will be launched for the first time, it will show the list of scheduled and completed matches. We have implemented such functionalities so that the users can select any one of them from the listed items.
If the match is scheduled then the relevant details will be displayed. If match is live or even it is ended then the users can compare two teams by their quarter-by-quarter performance parameters. There are many parameters to compare the performances of two teams like disposals, kicks, work rate, totals, handballs etc. This application also provides performance comparison between two players.
